Not Even Thanksgiving Yet But I'm Almost Done with Christmas Shopping...

Yes, I know you're thinking 'can't we get past Thanksgiving before we start talking about Christmas.'

    • J and W- I finally ordered their phones today. They are getting the T Mobile G1, which both have been drooling over since October when they announced they were putting a touchscreen phone out. All I can think about is, I didn't have a cell phone when I was 13 and now their darn  phones are nicer than mine. The good thing is, this is their birthday and Christmas gift. With three birthdays in December, it gets numbing coming up with ideas.
    • L- I also ordered her bedding set. I have been looking for several weeks, but had yet to find what I wanted. Today, there it was; the perfect set. I got the bed in a bag and the valance to go on her window.
    • C- found a tractor several weeks ago on my favorite shopping site, Craigslist. I am going to pick up maybe one or two small things for him and then he is complete.
    • E- is still so little that my  plan is to get her some books. She loves to look at her books. I think a few outfits and a baby doll should finish her out. I am also on the lookout for a playhouse for her and C. Craigslist has failed me, but I'm hitting the children's resale shop I adore this weekend with the hopes that I might be more successful.
    • J -two PS2 games will be his gift. As soon as he picks the darn two, I will have him finished.
    • A and G -always get gift cards to their store of choice. Both are rather picky and would just as soon pick out their own stuff. I also have to get G something for his birthday -too many December birthdays.

So, I am well on my way to being finished. How is everyone else doing?

Have you started on your Christmas shopping yet? What are some things you're getting the people you love?

Go you! I'm usually done before Thanksgiving too. This year has been weird but we'll finish up our shopping Friday. Gotta love those sales.

@TornadoChaser - I have never been a Black Friday shopper.  But this year I am finished Christmas shopping and plan on going at midnight (to the outlets like 5 minutes from my house!) to see what I can get for me!  Hopefully I dont kill anyone!

With 8 kids, I bet Christmas gets rather expensive at your house!  We have about everything for the kids taken care of, it's just the rest of the relatives that we still have to worry about.  But I usually don't have anything done until about mid December, so I'm doing good this year.

I was just thinking about this.  I am done besides one more present for my husband (I know what I want just haven't been able to go get there when he wasn't with me!) and presents for my in-laws.  I told my husband he is in charge of picking something for them since I've done everyone else so if his parents don't have a gift for Christmas, it's NOT MY FAULT!  :)

Last year I didn't get my Christmas shopping started until the week before Christmas. I didn't finish until Christmas eve...it was rough, but a learning experience (to say the least) lol

Oh, I knew this holiday season would be a mess before it started.  I was due with my second baby on November 15, but *surprise*, he came 3 weeks early.  So, with a 1-month old and 13-month old at home, I've been a little busy.

I managed to get most of my shopping done before baby number 2 arrived, and I'm just going to do the rest online.  I just can't imagine dragging my two babies out into the crowds this holiday season.  But, I usually finish my shopping well before now.  :)

I'm probably a little more than half way done.  I still have to get DH a gift; shoot, I have to still come up with what to get him!  All his side of the family I have nothing for.  My mom's side of the family, I'm about 2/3 done.  My Dad's side, barely even started.  But at least I'm completely done with DS's gifts!  So yeah, I guess I have more to do than I thought.  Ick!

I am sooo excited, but we just finished up most of our shopping! All we need is a gift card for my parents and that's it! Almost all of it is wrapped too. I think there's 4 more presents to be wrapped and that's it. I am so excited to have it all done. It has made me in the holiday spirit too. :)

due to the economy being so crappy & money being so tight, christmas is just going to be a dinner... thank goodness there are no kids here & we are all teenagers/adults to understand that.

good luck with all of you others and your x-mas shopping.

Good job!  Getting the crazyness out of the way!  I haven't done much Xmas shopping this year.  It's only for my daughter this time around as my husband and I separated a few months back.

So far I have bought her the

    1) Playschool DVD that one that can be emersed in a toilet or dropped down the stairs and it still plays perfectly.

    2) I also got her the Playschool digital camera that does the same

    3) A bunch of Crayola stuff.  (Crayons, Chaulk for drawing outside, and bath crayons)

    4) A bike seat so that mommy and her can go bikeriding in the Florida sun by the ocean.  I can't wait.

    5) Other than that...nothing else has been bought.  Maybe I'll get a few other things but that's about it.
