Mama Turtle Well I thought I had five minutes or so with two hands to type up something but the baby stirs. Never mind, he's snoozing again. In short, we're doing well; I'm perpetually exhausted as to be expected.
One of our toilets is not working right but I haven't called the rental folks yet because the state of myself (no shower in four days so far) and the state of the house is nothing I want to subject to an outsider to. I've managed to keep up on laundry somehow - mostly - keep getting the boys out the door on time looking pretty much put together, and keep the baby changed, nursed, burped and all around cuddled.
I have to pull myself and the house together as tomorrow I'm expecting someone.
Papa Turtle has been back to work this week but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. It was nice to have him home for the longest amount of time (compared to when the others were born), basically waited on hand and foot and having him cook. He's still cooking dinner, thank goodness, because I always seem to crash in the late afternoons.
I've ventured out of the house twice since Turtle5 was born. Oh, and he does not like the car rides - no fun when you're on a freeway and there's no pulling over. The first time was a WIC appt and the second time was a shopping trip, and those rendered me fit for a nap

. Other than that I feel I am recovering from the birth pretty well - almost back to normal.
The second car ride: it did go better than the first one
How long did it take for you to be back up on your feet after you had your baby?

Just two days, but I still felt horrible. It was at least three weeks before I started feeling like myself...and could sit down without pain.
I wasn't released from the hospital until a wk after i gave birth to k. after that it probably took me 2 wks b/c my blood count was still kinda low so I felt like sleeping ALL the time.
I was released from the hospital exactly 3 days after she was born (that's after a c-section and then a blood transfusion a day later, and being on magnesium and all that good stuff). The day she was a week old, I was scrubbing the bath tub... haha.. it still took a few weeks though for me too feel "normal" again - well, my new definition of "normal".
With my first, I left the hospital after two days, after lots of stitches and a blood transfusion b/c I lost too much blood. So, I was exhausted (the blood loss on top of new baby and no sleep) and had a hard time sitting for a couple of weeks. It was a rough process.
With my second, I had her at home and a couple hours later I was up walking around for short periods of time. I didn't tear so I wasn't very sore and the recovery time was remarkably short and easy!
awhile...i'll just leave it at that.
hope the toilet will be fixed soon.
With the first, it was weeks due to lets just say a very eventful incident following the birth. With the second I was home less than 24 hours later and ironing my sons shirts for school the next day. With 3 and 4 it was a fairly quick recovery. With number 5 it was immediate due to her health conditions. I had to hit the ground running hours after her birth.
I hate plumbing issues. Hope it gets fixed soon. The baby is adorable btw.
Quick! I did a 24hr short stay at the hosp and then went to my mother in laws that very day, and the grocery store and a couple other places the following day. I felt so much better even a couple of hours after. The rns were wondering why I was up and moving around, but I couldn't help myself I felt so good.
aww the cat nap pic is soo cute
