Baby Whale had started day care the first week in October. She had a hard time adjusting the new environment of going to school. Every morning, either Papa Whale or I accompany her to school and she gives us a sad look and starts to cry. Usually I think her cries last about 5- 0 minutes; then she realizes that there are plenty of toys and fun activities for her to do.
For example, as of today, I took her to school and the conversation went like this:
We greeted her teacher and said our good mornings. I said to Baby Whale, "Okay, give Mommy a kiss and say goodbye to me." Instead she said goodbye to her teacher and said, "No," and "Help Mommy, help." She knew I was leaving, but instead she gave me the reverse psychology, thinking that she was leaving as well.
What was it like dropping your child off at his/her first day of school/day care? Have you experienced a funny situtation with your child at school?

Jacob had been in daycare since he was 6 wks old, so at his first day of Kindergarten he was a veteran. All the other kids were crying and begging not to be left, I aske Jacob if he was going to cry and he looked at me with a "Mama Please" look. lol.
K on the other hand...it'll probably be harder with her. Th eonly place she's ever been is Sonja's and even sometimes she doesn't want me to go. I'm sure school will be tough for her.
I remember dropping off my baby sister to her daycare and she was crying so much. Then when I came back in the afternoon to pick her up, she started crying again-only this time, she didn't want to leave!
When i was little I would cry untill I threw up. Its good to gently ease them into it at an early age. I think it was essential for me to go, or eltse kindergarden would have been horrible.
apparently, after having done mommy-and-me classes for a few years, i was totally ready for preschool, and my mom said that on my first day i asked her when she was going to leave.
:/ haha.
oh well.
