Besides the oodles of doctors and nurses that seemed to be floating around? Haha! For my oldest and youngest, my husband. With my middle son, my mom since my husband was deployed.
My then husband was on the room for delivery of both my sons, and looking bad, I should have had my Mom with me instead. He was totally clueless and terrified, not much support.
I've had two c-sections so far...both times My mom and my then husband. This time around I am having my mom and one of my sisters.
With my daughter it was my husband, my mother, the dr and 5 nurses trying to get her out because she was in distress.
With my oldest son it was my husband and the dr who almost didn't make it in time lol
With my youngest son it was my husband, a nurse and the dr who knew better then to go anywhere after my water broke. LOL
I have quick labors
With my daughter my husband was in the room.
With my daughter-to-be, my husband will be with me, and this time, hopefully my mom also. It just depends on whether I have this baby before she gets here on the 18th!!!!
With my first, my son, it was my husband and the nurses - and at the last minute, the doctor
With my daughter, it was my husband and my midwife and her assistant. In my bathroom. :)
my husband and my oldest sister [whose an ob/gyn just not mine...lol]
and my dr and the nurse on call
When my son was born (July 1st this year) My husband was in the room as well as the nursery nurse (who stayed behind a wall and I couldn't even see her) my nurse, eventually my doctor (I had to hold my legs together to wait for him!) and another nurse that wasn't on duty. She had been there with me all day and was so impressed with my abilty to have gone through what I did, that she stayed to see the end result. Her shift ended at 7 and he was born at 8:31. I might also add, that her brother went to school with my hubby, but I didn't know her. =) She's a good friend now, though!
Besides for the doctor and nurses, it was my husband and my mom all 3 times.
With three of them, my husband, mom and mil were in there. With my second son my mom was out of town, so she was the only one missing, and boy did I miss her.
HUSBAND ONLY!!! Nobody was allowed in the room besides him if they didn't have a valid license to practice medicine on me... I just pray that my in-law's abide by these rules when I deliver my second child (trying to conceive!!) because we recently moved to the same city she lives in and the hospital is right down the street from our house... a hospital she birthed my husband in and several of her nieces/nephews... think she feels it's "her" territory and can get away with more... yeah she's like that =(
I guess I'm the only one that feels awkward about having moms in the delivery room. JUST my hubby, thankyouverymuch!
My husband, who was very encouraging by the way. I almost gave up until he said "I CAN SEE THE HEAD" lol. And my mother in law. I couldn't NOT let her in. My daughter is her first grandbaby. It was a very proud moment for her. I'm sure my father in law wanted in there, but I had to draw the line somewhere!
I had csections, so my husband, doctors & nurses
my boyfriend. i had csection so he was the only one allowed
For my first c-section no one, not even my hubby, got to be with me because the doctors had to put me under... With my second, my hubby got to be there.
Husband only. Before the time came, I thought I wanted my BFF and Mom in there as well, but when the time actually came I could only handle my husband being there :)
I want my husband and my doula to be in the delivery room with me.
Just my husband and the midwife. At my oldest son's birth there was also a midwifery student there.
While I was in natural labor, my husband, my doula, and my CNM. Once we had to do the C-section ... well, it seemed like the entire hospital was in there!
my mom and sister.
i was really wanting the god father to be there since the father split but it was kinda cool just to have the family there.. though it kinda got embarrassing to have them see me like that :s
My husband and best friend were in the room. My best friend was mostly just suppose to be there for the end of it, to take pictures and video, but she ended up being in there all damn day. I was kinda glad she was there at first, because I thought maybe she would be more supportive than my husband (not that he's not supportive of me typically- this was just a totally unknown situation to me, ya know?) but my husband actually did an amazing job throughout the entire twelve hour labor! I regret having her in there now, because we're no longer as close as we were for the previous ten years, and my husband admitted he was very bothered by her being there afterwards. Next time I will only have my husband in the room, and I'm debating on inviting my mother in law as well, but that will ultimately be up to my husband.
While I was laboring with both of my boys I had family and friends in the room until it was time to start pushing.
With my first son it was my mom and husband along with my favorite doctor and a handful of nurses (for both me and baby).
With my second son it was my husband, cousin, sister, friend (who was also doing photography), my favorite doctor and about a handful of doctors (for both me and baby).
It was supposed to be my husband and my mom but I ended up with a csection so just my husband. With this one if I'm lucky enough to go into labor before we have to do a csection it will be my mom and husband:)
My husband was in the room of course. And my mom happened to be in there when they decided to have me push laying on my side to get my stubborn son to turn his head face down, instead of to the left. It just felt right that she should stay in there, so we didn't ask her to leave.
She tells me weekly how grateful she is that she was allowed to be in the room when her first grandchild was born. And now I'm crying just thinking about it! Darn pregnancy hormones.
With this baby, we plan on it being just me and hubby.
