I've recently discovered a new toy shopping website, and I may be in trouble. I've been trying to find good sites for safe, wooden baby toys. Then today, I came across
Oompa Toys and I think I've hit the jackpot. They have a TON of toys listed, including many from top brands, like
Haba and
Plan Toys, along with all sorts of other things like books, games, etc. And if you're worried about your toys coming from China and thus being
laced with poison, here you can search for toys based on where they are made. You can browse through toys made in the USA or in one of many European countries, and then further filter the toys by categories like age range, brand, or price.
I foresee spending lots of time (and money) shopping here, both for D and for gifts for friends and family.

Where do you shop for your childrens' toys? What Web Sites and stores could you recommend?

Toys R Us or Babies R Us, at most of them you can ask at the service desk for the binder of toys made in America.
What an amazing site! I never saw it before but now I'm sure I'll be spending lots of time there. Thanks for posting it! :o)
Ooowww...very nifty! They even have Eco-Friendly sand play sets! (I hate the cheapy ones if only because they break/have to be replaced multiple times per year in Florida!)
We haven't shopped too much for toys yet. Megan has a small collection of soft, music-playing animals that will clip to her car seat, stroller, etc., but that's about it.
Craigslist all the way!! At least for Jeremiah's bigger toys. He doesn't need a whole lot since he's only 10 months, but most of his higher-priced items that retail for $50 on up I purchase for $20 or less on Craigslist, and they are in excellent condition. Besides he doesn't know that they are used!
I love oompa toys. I lived in Germany when I was little so a lot of the stuff they have remind me of the things I used to play with. My son loves everything I have purchased from them.
We are starting to look around for toys for the holidays. I found this really great place called Landbridge Toys. I was really impressed with the selection and the customer service was amazing!
