I average 50-100 pictures per day.

  • TashaDW_18@xanga

During their first year we did monthly pictures.  At a studio about 3-4 times and at home (I'm an amateur photographer) the rest of the months.

Now that they are both over one, we are doing them twice a year - we'll do family pictures in November or so and then birthday pics of the kids (their birthdays are in April and June).

But of course I take candid shots and e-mail them all the time.

  • HisLadyofVirtue@xanga

We took pictures when she was 3 montyhs old (late christmas photos cuz we were moving) at 8 months (the were anniversarry pictures for us but we included her in a couple shots) and then just this month cuz it was her first birthday.  We will also take some as soon as baby #2 is born (any day now) and then possibly RIGHT before hubby deploys (so like December ish).

I always said that I would never take pictured for my kids more than once a year for like school photos (I plan on homeschooling).  But I also never thought I would married to a soldier.  And since I am the pictures are SO important, because capturing these moment s are SO importnant.  I could wake up on day to a phone call and those may be all that are left of him.  Also, since he is gone so much, we feel that professional and nonprofessional pictures alike are important cuz those are all that he has while he is gone for a year or more at a time!

Unfortunately, as time goes on, each kid will get less and less individualized, and less frequent because of funds being spread thinner and thinner.

@TashaDW_18@xanga - I wish we had had the funds to do the every month pictures for the first year!  That would be totally awesome to do!

  • MommyDearest

I took a lot of pictures when she was first born but now without a camera or cellphone its actually irritating not to be able to take as many pics as i want cuz there are so many proud and cute moments.

  • blessedmommy08

I take pictures of "Critter" all the time! and I try to send them frequently...but I am bad!

  • TashaDW_18@xanga

@ReneeBrowning@xanga - It really doesn't have to be too expensive - the months that we didn't go to a studio I just set up outside or in a brightly lit room with a sheet as a backdrop and snapped away with my digital camera.  You can get some great shots all on your own and only pay for developing.

  • HisLadyofVirtue@xanga

@TashaDW_18@xanga - I do do that, since we couldn't afford that many professional pix.  Yesterday was her 1 yr bday, and today I just went back and posted pix of the last year.  It made me cry!!!!  And now I have another due any day, in some ways I'm overwhelmed at the idea of another baby, but at the same time I'm excited to rekindle those "baby" days, ya know????  They sit much stiller when their younger and pictures can turn out SOOOOO cute!!!!

  • mizzshoez@xanga

I take them everyday, I created a family website so they can see them and videos whenever they want

  • saraxqt@xanga

every chance I get! I'm hoping that I can send pictures of our daughter in every package that I send to the hubz.

  • icapillas@xanga

They had their first studio pic when they were one year old, wearing cute fairy costumes. I took their pictures as often as I fancy, at home or during outings. And yes, I do send them to my family.

  • onlyFORaLILwhile@xanga

ha. I never send them to my family. But when she was first born about every week I'd get a pic. Now it's if I remember my camera.

  • hottMILF@xanga

I love taking pix of my daughter but it's not just her, I take pix of everything. Also I have a question about how to handle my step daughter. My recent entry explain's it all but for the short version. Bassically, nothing we do work's, she don't listen, we have to keep telling her over and over again to do something or to stop doing something, we've tried almost everything we can think of. Also shes starting to talk back and a lie alot. ADHD run's in the family but my fiance don't want to put her on med's if that's what she has because of all the med's out there that are messing up kid's. Also she use to listen to her dad and not me, and now it's to the point where she don't really listen to any of us...what should we do?

  • Erika_Steele@xanga

I probably send pictures to the family every 3-4 months or so.  I take pictures more often than that.

  • SwissMama

Oh, goodness.   Well I signed up for a 365 photo challenge where I'm trying to take at least one picture of D every day.  Some days I take hundreds, though.  I'm constantly uploading them to flickr where friends and family can look at them.  Every so often (I've done this a couple of times i the past 8 months) I'll buy a bunch of prints and send them to my mom and dad.  But online, they can see new pictures almost constantly.  =)

  • tedder6@xanga

My kids are practicaly blind from all the flashes. I don't take them to get them done professionaly very often, but I take tons at home, and I almost like those better.

  • XbabyK@xanga

I take tons of pics every day and I occasionally print a couple out to send to relatives.  At the end of the year I take every picture we've taken with her in it and put it on a disc to give to family.  Professionally we took her every month the first year, then every three months for the second year.  Past that I haven't figured out yet, but I imagine it will eventually slow to twice year.

This is my first child and daughter, so I am what they have titled me "snap happy" and I take loads of pics on my digital camera and camera phone! I have over 100 pictures... I know because my memory stick on my camera only holds about 150 pics... and that does not count my camera phone pics. I take a pic of her each month she grows another month older and keep it stored on my cell phone under the age (month) she is. That way I can see her growth in months!

My DH says I have a trigger finger on the camera and calls me Ms. Snap Happy. Even one of his sisters tells me... girl I don't want to see my inbox on her 1st birthday! You will flood it with N's pictures! (And her birthday is in 3 more months!! Ahhh, already!?) I am constantly sending pictures, short vids (also from my camera phone) to my DH's family in the Bahamas. So they are able to see how she is growing and carrying on with her shennanigans! LOL! I love her to pieces!

Of course, they poke fun and stuff, but they DO also enjoy all the pics and stuff, so I guess it works out!

Oh and I have only had her pics done professionally once and that was when she was born.... hospital pics. We would like to do some recent ones, but well while it is a neat thing to do, we really can't afford to be spending outside of our budget. Money is way to tight these days. Besides, our pics are just as good because like I said, DH's family loves them!

  • IamKelleyK@xanga

Because of the forgiveness of a digital camera, I can take pictures everyday and e-mail them to my parents, who are 800 miles away and dying inside that they can't see my daughter more often.  I probably send them at least 30 pictures per week.  That's not including pictures messages on the phone and webcam meetings.  :)

I don't know how any mommy can limit the number of pictures they take.  With babies as beautiful as all of ours, it just isn't possible!!

  • AmberPwnsAtLife@xanga

I take quite a few pictures and post them on myspace, that way all my family and friends can see them. As for actually sending them out? So far she's had professional pictures when she was born, when she was almost 3 months and now she'll be getting them sometime this month for halloween. (She'll be 5 months oct 14) And there will definitely be christmas ones, easter ones and then her birthday ones.

  • WhatWeLongToBe@xanga

I take TONS of pictures, sometimes every single day, with my digital camera...I love taking pictures of the kiddo's.  We do professional ones every chance we can afford it, usually for their birthdays (or near their birthdays).  I send pictures to family about once a month, or whenever they ask.

  • Traci_Ladd@xanga

I'm a picture maniac. I love digital cameras so much! Lately I've been taking a series of pictures then turning them into a slideshow on slide.com and emailing them to friends and family just about weekly.

  • pitiful__anonymousxx@xanga

I don't have a child, but I do have a baby sister that I'm constantly taking pictures of. She's just so cute!

  • VoteMyBaby@xanga

I absolutely love taking pictures of my baby.  We send pictures out on a monthly basis clogging up email boxes of our family members.  I think they still enjoy the photos though.

  • blogging_or_therapy@xanga

We take a lot of pictures, most of our family is in other states and don't get to see the kids very much, so we try to keep them up to date.
