So I have two pregnant friends right now, and that means I'm more conscious of maternity and baby clothes. I LOVE to buy either for expecting pals!
I was telling one of these friends about a funny maternity shirt I saw online that said, "I just wanted a back rub". She told me she had ordered one that says, "Epidurals are for sissies". I wondered how many other cute shirts I could find.
So for all of you expecting moms, here are some more great maternity shirts:

Even the dads can get in on the action...

In addition to these 'cute' shirts, I was surprised to find some that could be considered offensive...
"I should have had a HEADACHE!" long sleeve
"Got epidural?" tank top
"I am a Mom therefore I drink" tank top
"Daddy's Little Helpers" beer and remote acid wash tee
"They whine, I drink wine." "Caution: May whine at any time"
Okay, at first, I had a link to the website but I've removed it because I don't want anyone thinking I'm against this website for having some shirts I think are somewhat offensive. They only make what sells, I'm sure. I just wonder why some of it sells?! Did this surprise anyone else?
I'm not a mother yet, so am I being clueless or do you think some of these border on the offensive too?

I wouldn't be offended by the shirts. They are after all, just shirts. Some people think they are funny, and most of the stuff is just for fun. People have shirts that say "Rockstar" on them, and they aren't actual rockstars..
I have an online shop of personalized products such as shirts and so on, with a maternity section. I would like to know what you think of my stuff! I would say most of my stuff is cutesie stuff, but there's some that are on the edge... I won't put my url here for fear you might think I'm spamming, but if you message me or something, i could send you the link. :)
With my last pregnancy, I made myself some t-shirts.
"Oops! I swalled a watermelon seed."
"Yes, I'm pregnant. I feel fine. I'm due in September. It's a baby." (You could put in the sex of your baby in that last part, but we never found out what the sex of our babies was until the birth.)
Also had one with Pooh bear on it that said "Lovin' my Tummy"
And one of my favorites for nursing moms..."I make milk. What's your super power?"
When you wear certain arrangements of words on your person, you tend to risk the attention of the authorities. In this case, a child welfare's advocate may be scoping you out and you may not know it.
All it takes is some overzealous case worker to read your shirt, step to you, engage in casual and nice conversation, and all of the sudden, you have given out your name as a sign of friendliness. And that's the cost of your first ammendment rights: you sell yourself out for a cheap laugh, and maybe your ability to raise your kids unsupervised.
This is also true of people who put political material on their cars, and t-shirts.
Anyone who finds this stuff offensive needs to pull the stick out of their butt before pushing out a baby, that's for sure.
I don't find any of them offensive...I find them hilarious. Yes, to some they may seem stupid and tacky, but that's an opinion that isn't shared by all. And I read in a comment above how someone finds form fitting clothing on pregnant women to be tacky. In reply to that, I LOVED wearing form fitting clothing while I was pregnant. I loved my pregnant body and I loved showing it off. I don't see why people would find that tacky at all. But I guess to each their own...

I'm pretty sure if you're pregnant, it's your body and your baby and you can wear whatever the hell you want in reference to either.
Personally I can see a few of those shirts and know that if I saw someone wearing it I wouldn't get along with that person, but I'm not about to tell anyone else what to wear, regardless of my own opinion.
I wear baggy jeans and baggy t-shirts all of the time and at my school three girls in my class started a little clique to tell me all the time "You're so attractive why don't you dress better." and implied all the time that I have low self-esteem.
Uh, no, my self-esteem is fine in that I wear whatever the fuck I want and don't care if I'm not impressing you. :)
So yeah.
To each their own, I say.
I don't like them at all. I saw one at the mall that said, "I should have just given him a blow job." Disgusting.
Aww, the shirts for daddy is so cute!!!
Toodler's clothes are ever so cute. They are so mini-sized that makes it so cute although its just a plain tee! Well, not to mention those with cute designs.
My friends have sent me an email with pictures of babies wearing animal's costumes. They are so cute!
I love the "Don't Touch the Belly" one. I'm currently pregnant, so I think I'll order one of those in every color.
I would find the "Epidurals are for Sissies" one offensive. I had one for each of my births, I'm going to have another one and I don't feel bad about that. Everyone's birth experience is different and personal and no one has the right to knock another's choice. Just my opinion.
i don't think any of them are offensive... some of them are pretty WT... but i do believe that the "got epidural" shirt perfectly captures the casual attitude the majority of women in our country have adopted... "i won't take a tylenol while i'm pregnant, but give me those drugs now!" though i try not to be a judgemental asshole, if i saw someone wearing that shirt... i wouldn't think... "oh, that person has made an informed decision about using an epidural..." i'd assume the idiocy of that t-shirt shirt summed up all of their preconceived notions about childbirth.
what about the "daddy's little squirt" onesie that has sperm swimming on it or "all daddy wanted was a blowjob" onesie or the maternity shirt "I don't think this is the threesome my husband was talking about" lol yeah...very offensive
I'm not fond of any parental t-shirts that advocate drinking as a parental strategy. But some of them are funny.
I have seen one saying "Daddy's little squirt"... with a picture of a cartoon sperm. I find that a little offensive but hey, some people think its cute. I personally would never put that on my baby boy, I think it's a bit trashy
