Forgetful Mom
by Mama Whale
These days I’ve been very forgetful. On Saturday my daughter lost her Curious George Monkey doll. I took the doll out at the Bakery place, and apparently I was busy doing something and was in a rush to get home. I was extremely tired and didn’t realize I left the Monkey at the shop. So this morning I asked one of the ladies to check if Curious George was at the shop. I was lucky enough to retrieve the Monkey; seems like I missed the Monkey doll more than my daughter did. I don’t even think my daughter knows that her Monkey went missing. Gotta put the Monkey in the washing machine, he’s gotten so dirty…
Then it happened again. I was planning to run an errand to deliver a package. I thought that I put the package in my purse, but when I got to the post office I didn't see the package at all, and when I got home the package was lying on the bed. It's been frustrating…
Does forgetfulness get in the way of your life sometimes? Anyone else feel more forgetful after becoming a mom?

I hear ya, forgetfulness can be really frustrating. I'm always forgetting to lock the car door, and sometimes even the front door if I carry too much stuff in with me. So far, I haven't locked myself out of the apt yet, but I'm very careful before I lock the door (because I could totally see myself doing this.)
I'm glad you found the monkey doll. I left my wallet at the grocery store a few months ago, and I was so happy and thankful when I recovered it (a customer had found it and given it to the store clerk).
I don't know how I can get more forgetful...
I think ai was more forgetful when I was pregnant. I locked my keys in the car PLENTY of times...that shit will have you VERY frustated.
Oh my goodness, am I ever forgetful these days, with 3 little ones, I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached. Before kids, I had the best memory, ever! They can sure make one scatterbrained.
see what i forgot on a big day: http://weblog.momaroo.com/mamajoyjoy/667200246/mommy-brain.html
i'm infamous for forgetting where my keys are. i was NEVER like this before pregnancy and baby. *sigh*
OH YES! I had such a good memory before I had my kids....*sigh* now I forget everything.
The best is when I fall asleep thinking about my to-do list for the next day, dream that I did some of the things on list and then wake up the next morning confused about what has actually been done and what still needs to get done. LOL.
i swear, i may not be meant to be a mother. i read momma fox's post on being touched out and thinking "i get that way NOW!!". and now this whole forgetful thing. i too am infamous for locking my keys in my car. with my house key. and the nearest available key is fifteen miles away. it's now a running joke that when someone gives me a key (house, car, etc.) it immediatley gets taken away to make my "backup copies". it's sad, really :)
Pretty sure pregnancy and kids kill memory cells.
I attribute it to having eighteen million more things running through your mind at all times.
latest bought of forgetfulness: I still have to fill out all of my kids' information packets for school and they've been on my desk for going on four days now. oops!
Totally. I feel like I checked my brain in the delivery room.
Someone told me that the pregnant woman's brain shrinks 5%...so hows that for an excuse!!!!!
LOL
Oh yes, it is soo frustrating.
I'm not even a mom and I'm very forgetful. =P
