  • K95 Cares for Kids Radiothon

    Mama Penguinby Mama Penguin

We are very lucky here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to have a brand new hospital devoted to the well-being of children.  Our daughters have been visitors (and long-term) residents of both the Saint Francis Children's Hospital and the Saint Francis EOPC (NICU).  During their stays in both facilities our daughters received excellent care, compassion for their medical and emotional needs, and constant consideration for Papa and I as their parents.  Because of our experiences with Saint Francis, we are huge supporters of the annual Children's Miracle Network K95 Cares for Kids Radiothon. The name may be a mouthful, but it's a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts.

Regardless of your views on hospital intervention, it is easy to see that facilities like this are vital to the survival of some of the sickest and smallest babies that are born every year.  Hospitals like this are also tremendously important to sick and ailing children and their families.  The monies raised through this radiothon will be devoted 100% to furnishing life-saving care and services at the children's hospital; absolutely no money will be used for administrative costs or other uses.

Our family of four will be participating by means of a live interview this morning at 8:25 CST.  This will be the third year of doing a live interview and it's something I always look forward to.  You can listen online by visiting http://k955fm.com/cmnradiothon/ then clicking on "Listen Live."  You can also visit that link to find out more information regarding the radiothon.  Please consider making a donation if you feel moved to do so.  If you would rather the money you donate remain in your area, please contact your local hospital or radio station to see if they do something similar in your town.  Please know that your donation, regardless of where it's made, does make a difference.  Our twin daughters are LIVING PROOF.
