Record Breaking C-Section Twins
by Mama TurtleI was reading outloud to Papa Turtle a news story about a couple in NC who had 10 lb and 12 lb twin babies (whoah, right??) via c-section. Apparantly they broke a state record... anyways Turtle3 is next to me and after I said "c-section" he looks at the screen and then asks "Mommy, why are the babies sea-sick?"
I couldn't even try to explain, I was laughing too hard.
How much did your babies weigh at birth?

OH MY GOODNESS! I always think 10 and 12 lb babies sound so big when there's just one! Can you imagine carrying 2 babies that size???? Wow.
My son was 8 lb, 1 oz and my daughter was 7 lbs even. Not too big but big enough :)
Haha, kids are just adorable. Personally, I was 8 lbs some odd ounces. I can not imagine if that woman wanted to do home birth the normal way... O_O
*fetal position & some crying*
Wow, that poor woman! I can't even imagine, I bet she was VERY uncomfortable. My kids were 5lb 15oz (4 weeks early), 7lb 4oz, and 7lb 5oz.
Wow, I bet she got a few stretch marks! My first was 7lbs 2oz and my second was 8lbs 9oz.
Holy bejeebies!
My boys were 7lbs 6oz, 7 lbs 12 oz and 7 lbs 8 oz.
My first was 7 lbs 8 oz and my second was 10 lbs 3 oz.. I am really hoping I don't have another 10 lb baby..
Mine were 10 lb 1 oz, 10 lb 1 oz, and 9 pounds - boy, boy, girl. Girl was two weeks early, or she would have probably been as big as her brothers. No c-sections!
I was 2 pounds, 8 ounces :)
9 lbs 2 oz & 8 lbs 4 oz. I'm sure if I'd gone to my due date (both were a week shy), they would've been in the 10 lb range. Can't imagine 22 lbs of baby. I wonder if she had gestational diabetes?
7lbs 5 oz. at birth
6lbs 14oz leaving the hospital
WOW! I don't even want to think about how that must have felt. My Coco was 7 lb 7 oz, and I was shocked she was that big. I shudder to think about 10lbs lol.
Whoa - those are BIG babies. My daughter was 8lbs 7oz and I thought she was a pretty big baby!
I am a big woman and my boy who was 16 days late was still only 7 lbs 8 oz. with this next baby we shall see...
Wow, that is awesome!
My boy was 10 pounds 7 born right on time! My girl was 8 pounds 10 oz, born 4 days late. Both drug-free deliveries! I couldn't imagine a 12 pounder - wow!
I guess those kids didn't need to go to prenatal care to get looked at... whew. Those are some big babies. Just thinking if it was one baby... 22 pounds!? O.o I think I would have to hurt my husband. Yesss.
My son was only 7 pounds, 9 ounces. I was very happy he was that size. My husband was over 9 pounds when he was born, and I would have hurt him if our son was that big. Whew. <33
ohhh....wow..... so big, i'm speechless...
and turtle3 cracks me up xD
WOW that is completely unreal but a miracle all in itself. It's almost as shocking as the story that I read about a women who delivered a baby natural that weighted 15 pds. I know it seemed unreal but it was true.
Now I had a c-section for my daughter because they said that she was bigger then she really was, so they advised me to do that instead of natural. I will never do a c-section again, the recovery isn't bad it's the pain with the back with needles and all that goopy stuff. I'd rather go through the pain anyday through natural compared to c-section.
Oh My Gosh!
I couldn't even begin to imagine!
10 lb and 12lb twins! Wow!
Mine:
1st: 6lb 14oz
2nd: 8lb 3oz
3rd: 10lb
4th & 5th: Combine 12lb 5oz = 6lb 3oz + 6lb 2oz
6th: only 7lb 8oz
I am glad number 6 did not follow 2lb increase per birth pattern. I would hate to have a 14lb baby.
wow, that's big! my girl was 9lbs 12.6 oz. My midwife couldn't believe she was that big, said I hid her size well. My belly was always pretty big but I was carrying excess fluid. At 1.5 months before she was born, the ultrasound tech estimated her at 8.5 lbs and the doc wanted to do an elective c-section. I didn't want to and my midwife agreed, saying she didn't believe I was going to have a 10 lbs baby. Two weeks before she was born another ultrasound estimated her at 8.5 lbs The week before she was born another doc felt her in my belly and guessed she was near 8 lbs. Tricky baby!
Holy crapola...although I will never give birth, I'm still thankful for the C-section. That's too much for anyone to go through!
I couldn't even imagine carrying one child that size, let alone two!! Props to her!!
My little girl was 7 lbs 5 oz. Nowhere near being a "big" baby!!
those are MONSTROUS twins lol.
i'm a twin. we both weighed around 4pounds 8 ounces i believe.
My last one was 11-2 born at home with ambulance getting there right as I got his head out....uhhh that H U R T!!!
