  • Dr. Brown's Bottles

    Mama Lionby Mama Lion

Thanks to icegurl and her post last week, I was able to take my Dr. Brown's bottles to our nearby Babies R Us and get a whopping ~$118 back for my 22 bottles!

Yup, you heard right... I had 22 Dr. Brown's bottles!  I actually had more but decided to throw out the ones with scratches on them.  If I had known that BRU was going to do this voluntary recall I would have kept ALL of them including my Avent bottles, which I had sold on ebay.  I actually had my Dr. Brown's up on ebay to sell and when I heard about this recall I had hubby buy them off of me.  So he now owes me $36 .

I'm so glad that icegurl posted about this because I would have never known about this recall and I would never have been able to get the FULL price back for used bottles.  It's pretty cool that they're doing this... I got a TON of bottles since I didn't want to go through the hassle of washing bottles all the time throughout the day and now that I got full use out of all those bottles and don't need them anymore, it actually worked out really well for me.  It's like I "borrowed" them .

So yah, call your nearby BRU and see if they'll take back your BPA bottles.  From what I know, they're taking back Dr. Brown's and Avent.  MUCHO thanks again girl for the heads up and for saving me some money .  I'm SO glad I didn't just throw them out... it seemed like such a waste!

Do you have BPA bottles at home?  Is your local BRU participating in this recall?
