  • He Wants What?

    elephant-65x65 by Mama Elephant

Recently, I was sitting here reading a book when Junior came up to me and said, "I want bed balloon please."  I wasn't sure if that is what he really said so I asked him to type it on the computer and sure enough he wanted bed balloon.

Allow me to explain.  We are trying to find a new bed for Junior.  We bought him a brand new one just 18 months ago but he needs a new one.  If you are wondering why, keep in mind that he still has night time accidents and Depends and other adult diapers just don't cut it.  We kept the factory plastic on his bed but it didn't help.  When we get a new one, we will also be shopping around the medical supply stores for something that can keep his mattress dry.  While we are shopping around, Junior is using our inflatable bed... which he likes to deflate and ask me to inflate it again and again and again.  And today he has decided it is a "bed balloon."  I just think that is too cute.

    that is cute.

My DD is not beyond jabbering yet... so I'm still waiting for those treasured sayings.

That's precious!  It really is a bed balloon!

Baby Goldfish kept asking for "Gagas" one day, and I didn't know what it might be.  I thought about it, and she was trying to say "crackers."  Too cute!

She tends to add G's to a lot of things she can't pronounce.  "Yucky" is "Gucky," "Look" is "Gook."

my daughter, who is now 16, called my bra "boobie socks" when she was 3

    Cute!

My 4 y/o says "I want regular chocolate hugs." No clue where he picked that one up.

There's also "vegals" for stick piles.

Not so much made up names that I recall at the moment although there were a few... but both girls called dandelions "wishes" for a very long time. They also called salad "leaves" for a long time (and ate those leaves with gusto in fact). The one phrase I'm trying to fix is "front butt" -- that's what they call their front area. I'm want to laugh, but I'm also a tad mortified. LOL.

The other day my 3 year old and I were driving and there was traffic - I said, "For Heaven's sake!" and he started hollering, "We're having steak!"

My daughter got a dog a few months back after much deliberation and thought. She was sooo excited and eagerly named her and bought pink collars and such. Then one day while we were in the back yard playing as a family my husband and son started throwing the Frisbee back a forth across the yard. The little dog tore after it and when she caught it brought it right back to my husband! The kids were all shreeking and hollaring with excitement and my daughter ran in the house saying, "MOM!! My dog is a 'fetching dog'!!!! My dog is a 'fetching dog'!!" I just thought it was tooo funny!!

i don't have a kid, but i used to call everything christmas related "ro ro dee". i think i got the "ro ro" from santa, "ho ho", and the "dee" from "tree". anytime i wanted to watch my winnie the pooh christmas tape, i just said, "ro ro dee! ro ro dee!"
apparently i was a really cute kid, lol.

There's tons but I can't think of any other than all of my children have pronounced the fridge to be "the fridgalator".

Oh, just a thought about diapers, have you considered cloth? I've only diapered babies/toddlers but I hardly ever had a leak, even  overnight, when using the right materials. (as opposed to anything disposable - leak city) I know a lot of WAHMs make or can make dipes for older children and  adults that need them.

My Punkin Head my 5 year old. She has always called Bandaids bam bam's. She has a unique way of saying interesting. I miss the way she used to say feel better. Sometimes it came out beel bedder. I never thought I would miss the baby talk. She still speaks her own language at times lol
