  • Ergo

    Mama Lionby Mama Lion

A few days ago, Baby Lion slept a record breaking 5 1/2 hours during the day time, but the whole 5 1/2 hours Papa Lion and I were taking turns carrying him in the Ergo as he slept. The docs recommended him sleeping in an upright position so they told us to put him in a car seat, high chair or stroller and have him sleep in there. That sounds like a great plan if he actually liked sitting in those things! Now take a sick baby and stick him in something he hates for more than 30 minutes and he'll be crying bloody murder, which is why we've been carrying him in the Ergo so that he can sleep somewhat more peacefully in an upright position. The sacrifices a parent makes for their baby *sighs*. Everyone probably already knows how much I love my Ergo and now it's official... I can't LIVE without my Ergo!! I even purchased a couple of accessories.

    The backpack:
    ergo1
It attaches right onto the carrier and I take it with me when going on quick trips. Instead of lugging a diaper bag and stroller with me, I just take the Ergo and attach the backpack and I'm ready to go.

    Sucking pads:
    ergo2
Since Baby Lion loves sucking on the straps, I bought these and he no longer sucks on the straps. It's also been great at wiping Baby Lion's nose for me when his nose starts running .

What makes baby carrying easier for you?  Anyone else using the Ergo?

I love love love my Ergo.  I went through FOUR other carriers before I found the Ergo... thanks to a xanga mommy friend.    I love my xanga mommy friends!

Oohh... I may need to look into those sucking pads.  My little buppy sucks on the straps ALL the time!  Oiy.  So far I haven't needed more then what I can put in the little pouch.  But the backpack is very cool.

I absolutely LOVE my Ergo.  There's nothing like it.  If I hadn't had it, I don't know what I would have done!!!!!

It took me forever to pick out a carrier, I finally went with a ring sling. I may just have to buy a Ergo though.

We got the Baby Bjorn because that's what most of my friends had, but I wish we had the Ergo instead.  It looks awesome, and I bet it's easier to do dishes with a backpack carrier!

All these pictures and information and the great ideas of motherhood......... almost........ makes me want to have another baby !  But, since God has given me ten years into menopause I think I will just enjoy our eight grandchildren and say how cute Baby Lion is.  You both look pretty comfortable in the photo.

Just checked out this ERGO and think I may need to look into the investment when the time comes again. And it really isn't too much more when it comes to price. Thanks for sharing!

My Ergo is far and away the very best baby accessory I have.  I don't know how I'd get through my day without it.

my first carrier was a bjorn cuz that's what most people talked about.. but when I bjorn my daughter for a whole entire day at Hershey Park I was ready to quit.. my back was aching so bad and my daughter is light for her age since she is off the chart... a xanga mommy introduce me to ergo and I love it... people should just ergo their baby..2 thumbs up for ergo... thanks for the idea about the backpack...

wow, the ergo looks cool. since my baby won't let me leave her sight--- wearing her on my back may be the only way to get some chores done! i might need to get one for myself!

but i love wearing baby when i go out. i've tried the playtex hip hammock, baby bjorn, hotsling, infantino slingrider, and moby wrap. baby bjorn and hotsling are the easiet to wear for me so far. she's getting a lil too heavy now for me to use the baby bjorn, which i used the most often her first 4 months. now i enjoy using the hotsling to carry her on my hip, or having her sit in it.
